Television
Two state owned TV channels Rupavahini and the Independent Television
Network (ITN) operate in Sri Lanka. The country also has several private
channels. For daily programmes you can refer to daily newspapers. Cable TV
or Satellite TV has also gained popularity in Sri Lanka. At very little
monthly fare, one can entertain yourself with so many channels. New
technologies like DTH have also reached Sri Lanka.
Radio
Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) is the state radio broadcaster in
Sri Lanka. Assisting it in radio broadcast are several private radio
stations on the air on FM bands.
Newspapers
Major English Dailies of the country are Ceylon Daily News, Evening
Observer and The Island. On Sundays you can read Sunday Observer, Sunday
Island the Sunday Times, the Sunday Leader, Weekend Express and Midweek
Mirror.
