Day
1
In Colombo airport, our representative would assist you in transfering to
hotel. Have your lunch and take rest. You would leave for city tour in
evening. Colombo is rapidly changing its face, just as other developing
countries.Skyscrapers have risen where old buildings once stood. Yet, in
Colombo, one can see old world charm. For example you can see a 100-year-old
clock tower and several British built colonial buildings. Other places you
would like to visit are the old parliament in fort, residential areas where
you find the stately homes of the rich. In your itinerary is Bandaranaike
memorial international conference hall - BMICH, gifted to Sri Lanka from the
People's Republic of China.
Day 2
After having your breakfast move on to Kandy. On the route visit the
elephant orphanage in Pinnawela. About 60 pachyderms live in the orphanage.
Many elephants living here are babies, found, abandoned or orphaned in the
wild. They are cared, fed and trained by the wild life authorities. You are
suggested to visit during the feeding times, when one will have the
opportunity of seeing the baby elephants being bottle-fed. You can also
accompany the elephants to a river close-by and watch the elephants having
their daily bath. Tour the temple of the tooth relic in evening and
thereafter witness a cultural show featuring conventional Sri Lankan
dancing.
Day 3
Venture on a city tour after breakfast. Kandy, the last capital of the
Sri Lankan kings, has been declared a world heritage site. The name Kandy
conjures visions of splendour and glory. Many of the legends, traditions and
folklore are yet lively and vibrant here. Drive around the Kandy lake
constructed by the last sinhala king Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1806. Tour
the arts & crafts centre and a gem museum and a lapidary. In the evening
go to the peradeniya botanical gardens. This botanical garden was first made
as a pleasure garden by a sinhala king and was expanded by the British. It
stretches in 147 acres and provides an amazing variety of trees, plants and
flowers. Dinner and overnight stay at Earl`s Regency hotel.
Day 4
After taking breakfast move on to Nuwara Eliya. En route tour a tea
plantation and a tea factory, where the best tea in the world is produced.
You will be apprised of all the process of manufacturing tea. You can also
watch how tea is graded. Taste pure Ceylon tea in the factory.
Nuwara Eliya, thanks to its invigorating mountain climate and scenery, is
sri Lanka's most popular hill resort. Nuwara eliya is also the heart of sri
Lanka's tea country producing spectacular share of the world's best tea.
Pidurutalagala (8282 feet), Sri Lanka's highest mountain, is located here.
Nuwara-eliya also holds one of the finest 18 hole golf courses in south
Asia. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel tea factory.
Day
5
After breakfast proceed to Colombo via Kitulgala. Kitulgala is the place
where the famous 'bridge on the river Kwai' film was made. Also Enroute
observe the water falls St. Clare's and Devon. Check in at Colombo Hilton
Dinner and overnight stay at Colombo Hilton.
Day 6
In the morning do a shopping tour of Colombo. Visit the Noritake Ceramic
Showroom, majestic city shopping complex, ODEL and House of Fashion dress
boutiques. Thereafter in the afternoon proceed to Bentota and check in at
Taj Exotica hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7
Full day at leisure on the beach. (Optional boat ride in the evening)
Dinner and over night stay at Taj Exotica hotel.
Day 8
After breakfast proceed to the airport for departure.
